Waste water treatment plants
The management of the waste water treatment process, both urban and
industrial, proposed by ECOBIOS, provides for the installation
near the plant of a cylindrical structure, with size proportionate
to that of the plant, destined to the production of the Biocatalyst®.
The letting of Biocatalyst in the oxidation tank occurs at continuous
cycle, while that of bacteria occurs only in a unique abundant inoculation
at the start up of the process. The activity of bacteria and Biocatalyst® remains constant in the time and does not need any change, as long
as that the plant is kept in efficient conditions.

(vortex tank of total oxidation with sedimentator of a plant specifically
projected for the biocatalytic process).
The main results
are checkable through:
-
remarkable decrease
of the values of pollutants for the input (COD;
BOD5; Phosphorous, Nitrogen: nitric, nitrous and ammonia; Tensioactives,
etc.), largely below the limits set by tab. 1 and 3 of Order in
Council 152/99;
- complete elimination of bad odours (not by covering them but thanks
to their complete mineralization);
- elimination of foams in the aeration tanks which provoke the formation
of aerosol, and
at times even pathogens;
- convincing reduction of the volume of the sludge produced, up
to their complete absence if relating to industrial wastes (also
toxic-harmful).

Bioremediation
of contaminated soils
The "Soil-Bioremediation" method consists of reproducing,
within the scope of a contaminated site, the best conditions to let
bacteria consortiums grow, in concentrations and speed such that all
the organic substrate present in the (polluting)
soil is transformed,
through a biological process, into water, carbon dioxide, nitrogen,
etc.
ECOBIOS adopts a biotechnology that, albeit
very innovative, is
still proved thoroughly successful.
This biotechnology provides for the inoculation on the
soil to be remediated of natural microbe consortiums, which
are not genetically
modified and which are not pathogenic
for human beings (and superior
animals), and is in synergy with a Biocatalyst® which accelerates the
metabolization times of the organic substrate on behalf of the pre-inoculated
"natural" biomass.
Advantages of the process are the very reduced remediation times (8
÷
12 months) and the completeness of the biodegradation reactions, as
a consequence of the fact that microbial strains are especially selected
on the type of the flowed polluting compound.

Treatment of solid wastes
The synergic biotechnology "bacteria-Biocatalyst®" does not exhaust its possible applications on liquid polluting substrates. A
good example in this sense is the treatment of urban solid wastes joint with
the liquid ones. This depurative cycle provides for a first stage, able to
break solids into small pieces, so that they can be more easily
attacked by bacteria,
which constitute the second phase: by doing so you obtain a
depurative return of about 75%.
Among the numerous examples of application
in this field we can mention:
- Refuse disposal sites
bioremediation (also for the unauthorized ones)
- Biological chelating (gluconates, picolinates, etc.) of heavy metals
present in the sludge and in many liquid wastes of the industrial production
cycles.
- Fluidification of the materials deposited in the cesspits' pipes (Imhoff
tanks) exposed to frequent clearing and occlusions with resulting problems
of bad odours due to the anaerobic situation in which saprophytic bacteria
are.
- Biotransformation of the organic wastes, also the toxic-harmful ones into
"special" in order to be accepted by the refuse disposal sites.

Analysis
and control
Making use of its research and sophisticated analysis
laboratories, these centers, which are
located in many strategic points of the Italian
territory can carry out analytical determinations in real time;
moreover, ECOBIOS offers a valid service of study and consulting for the
environmental impact control.

Biodegradation on oil and its
derivatives
The natural marine bacteria supplied are able to biodegrade oil and its
derivatives. The natural degradation process of these products is, as a
matter of fact, remarkably accelerated by the biological component. Some
specialized magazines have defined such bacteria as OIL-EATERS since these
strains feed on substrate constituted by various hydrocarbons, turning them
into a mixture of water soluble fat acids and microbial proteins, highly
soluble and absolutely harmless for human beings and other living organisms.
Therefore, an environmental disaster such as oil-spill into the sea, in a
lake, river or soil can be faced and solved thanks to the application of
these completely natural microorganisms. Moreover, it is possible to carry
out the treatment of the sludge coming from the oil
drilling both on the
land and in the sea. Our company is able to operate directly on the
platforms for the extraction of crude oil. As a matter of fact you can
obtain an extra crude oil drilling from those oil wells
considered
unproductive (second oil recovery).

Specialistic consultancy
services
ECOBIOS has a highly qualified
technical staff, which intends to solve any technical problem relating to a
project that the client may encounter. The potentials of such sector are
numerous and include, for example, the designing of brand new treatment
plants or modifications
and/or adjustment of the existing ones, proposals of
metric calculations estimates, cost estimates, economic optimisation studies,
plan of submarine pipelines with the oceanographic location of the terminal
diffusers.
